About the CS Department

Computer Science Department was established concurrently with the College of Science in the academic year 1418/1419H, to cover the needs of the different sectors in the Kingdom and to provide the qualifications and experiences needed. The department prepares the students to be specialized in the computer science field after graduation. This is achieved through the study of computer systems and their architectures in addition to the supporting programming tools such as computer languages, operating systems, and computer network. The curriculum was prepared to offer students with the necessary knowledge and experiences required for professional activities in this field. Graduates are prepared to work in the governmental and private sectors such as Software Design Companies, Universities and Educational Institutions, Communications and Internet Companies, various Companies, and Organizations related with this field.

The Computer Science Department is looking to achieve recognition in education and scientific research in all fields of computer science.


CS Department Mission

To prepare highly qualified scientific and technical graduates who are ready to work and compete in the Computer Science field, to continue their postgraduate studies, and to achieve recognition in research and scientific studies, in the transmission of knowledge and in the advancement of technology for the service and development of the community.


CS Department Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The educational objectives of the Computer Science Program at Qassim University are:

1. Graduates will contribute to the development of scientific knowledge and technological applications in all aspects of computer science.

2. Graduates will work with others effectively in their professional careers and continuously improving their interpersonal and technical skills.

3. Graduates will be sufficiently equipped to pursue and excel in postgraduate studies and research in computer science and other related fields.
